City Stamp Welcomes Dr. Jim Watt

City Stamp Montreal is proud to announce that one of Canadian philately's most well known and respected expert, Dr. Jim Watt, has joined our team!

At the young age of 7, Jim became interested in the world of philately and by age 14 he specialized in Canadian stamps, collecting all that he could acquire. In 1974 Jim started to make appearances at well known auctions at age 21 and was soon considered a staple in Canadian philately experts.

Dr. Jim Watt graduated from the University of Western Ontario as a physician who specializes in radiology and medical imaging primarily in sports injury and rehabilitation. Jim is board certified in Canada as well as the United States. Borders arent able to stop Dr. Watt from practicing medicine and along with his help there will be no border in the world which will be able to stop City Stamp from identifying and expertising any variety or plate flaw that is thrown our way.

In 1978 Dr. Jim Watt concentrated on classic Canada, mainly interested in plating the pence issues. He has written numerous published articles and topics on such stamps as a very young man.

Dr. Jim Watt has over 40 years of auction experience and has a voracious appetite for researching the various plates, varieties, papers and printings that have appeared throughout the many years of Canadian philately.

There is always a new variety or plate flaw around to discover and who better than Dr. Jim Watt to identify them. Dr. Watt feels that in order to prove constancy in these issues it takes a lot of communication and research and he is anxiously awaiting his chance!

Another benefit of the expertise of Dr. Watts is we will be able to document many Canadian issues, plate flaws, papers, cancels, shades, etc. that even the most expert forger or reperfer will not be able to hide.

If you are interested in having your unusual piece identified for insurance, personal knowledge, appraisal or sale please dont hesitate to contact us about having your material examined by Dr. Jim Watt.

From all of us at the City stamp team we welcome Dr. Jim Watt to our family of philatelists and looking forward to working with him!
